'Wealth Fame Power' opens up with Roger’s theme. It's powerful, just like Roger himself, driving, and dynamic. It’s a dark, mighty anthem featuring the iconic “musical Jolly Roger” - hurdy-gurdy. As soon as the swords are drawn and the crowd rushes out in search of One Piece, we reverse Roger’s theme and introduce Luffy’s theme, the main theme of our show. Roger’s theme is all about the descending motion since this is the end of the journey for Roger. Luffy’s theme, however, is all about the ascending motion since it’s the beginning of his exciting adventure toward becoming the King of the Pirates.”

One Piece (stylized in all caps) is a fantasy adventure television series developed by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda for Netflix. The series is a live action adaptation of the ongoing 1997 Japanese manga series of the same name by Eiichiro Oda, who himself served as a major creative consultant for the series. It is produced by Kaji Productions and Shueisha (who also publish the manga). The series stars an ensemble cast including Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar as the main five members of the Straw Hat Pirates.

The series premiered on August 31, 2023, and received positive reviews from both critics and fans who praised the performances, story, visual effects, and general faithfulness towards the characters and events from the source material. Several outlets have labeled it one of the best live-action anime adaptations, considering it a major improvement over Netflix's previous attempts such as the live action versions of Cowboy Bebop and Death Note.

The story begins with the execution of the infamous pirate captain Gold Roger. His death sparks a frenzied hunt for his hidden treasure, known as the 'One Piece.' Twenty-two years later, Monkey D. Luffy, an aspiring pirate, crosses paths with the cruel pirate Alvida and her mistreated cabin boy, Koby. Using his unique elasticity powers acquired from eating a Devil Fruit, Luffy defeats Alvida, befriends Koby, and embarks on a quest to find the Grand Line, where the One Piece is rumored to be.

On their journey, Luffy and Koby encounter Roronoa Zoro, a swordsman wrongly sentenced to execution. After a confrontation with Marine Captain Morgan's corrupt son, Helmeppo, Luffy rescues Zoro, and they are joined by Nami, a cunning cat burglar with her own agenda. Together, they face off against Morgan, seize a map to the Grand Line, and set sail on the Going Merry, a ship gifted to them by the kind Kaya.

They encounter Buggy the Clown, who has ties to Luffy's childhood hero, Shanks. Luffy and his friends ultimately defeat Buggy and free the people of Orange Town. They make their way to Baratie, a floating restaurant, where they meet Sanji, a talented chef. The crew faces off against Warlord Dracule Mihawk and, despite defeat, gains a new member in Sanji.

In Conomi Island, where they learn about Nami's tragic past and her mission to save her village from the oppressive Fishmen Pirates, led by Arlong. The Straw Hat Crew helps Nami confront her past and defeat Arlong, earning them a new enemy in Marine Captain Nezumi and a bounty on Luffy's head.

After a fierce battle with Garp, Luffy's grandfather, the crew solidifies their resolve and sets out to pursue their individual dreams as Straw Hat Pirates.
