TOR & BOQ of water wells - Hydrogeology 101
This video is an introduction to the tendering process, Terms of Reference (TOR) and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for the drilling and testing of water wells. As hydrogeologists we need to decide where we want to drill water wells, how deep they should be and how they should be designed based on the results of our baseline survey and geophysical survey. An important document which records everything which needs to be done to complete the drilling and testing of a water well is the TOR. This is complemented by the BOQ which lists all the items which will be paid under the contract with the drilling contractor. Both the TOR and the BOQ are invaluable during the tendering, construction and post-construction phases of a water well drilling project.
