How To Not Fear Death | Lucretius’ On the Nature of the Things

In the first century BC, the epicurean philosopher Titus Lucretius Carus wrote De rerum natura or On the Nature of Things. In it, Lucretius forwards many tenets of Epicureanism, one of them being an absence of fear for death. Lucretius specifically appeals to a pre-birth existence, a lack of desire, and a similarity to sleep in order to get us more comfortable with the thought of death.
