Practicing Then a Mishap! - Wood Turning

Today I show that a lack of fine hardwood doesn't have to mean that practicing turning must be put off. I'm using common construction grade lumber left over from a fencing project. It's not the most attractive of woods but it does offer the opportunity to turn something that may be used in the home or in the shop. Along the way, I experienced a mishap that also can serve as a lesson that no matter how experienced you are, stuff happens.
