ITIL Change Management; Emergency Change Vs Urgent change.
Emergency Change: A Change required as a result of sudden loss or reduction of service. Emergency Changes are always derived from business critical Incidents (Priority 1 or 2 only) or an imminent outage with a critical impact to the business.
Urgent Change : Changes considered as urgent by the business, by the nature of their potential impact to the business they by-pass normal lead times.
Poor planning & preparation are not valid reasons for raising Emergency or Urgent Changes.
