Fully Adjustable Lightweight Active Wheelchair
The Quickie Argon 2 has been designed to get the ideal combination of a rigid performing wheelchair with an active adjustable wheelchair. These design features have been built into a modern open frame.
The Argon 2 has a wide range of adjustment options that allow users to fine tune the performance of the wheelchair. It is the perfect wheelchair for users who are developing their driving abilities and over time might require more active wheelchair settings.
The rear seat height is adjustable in 1cm steps to make sure the perfect fit is found for each user. The infinitely adjustable centre of gravity quickly allows users to change their driving settings to either more active or a more stable. The backrest angle, backrest height and upholstery tension are also all adjustable, so a seating position that best suits the user will never be an issue.
The Quickie Argon 2 is stringer and lighter than a traditional rigid wheelchair. The castor-link tubes on the Argon 2 we created using a process called hydra-forming. This involves heat-treating the aluminium so its strength can be increased whilst at the same time allowing the tube walls to be thinner and lighter than those of a traditional active wheelchair. The result being a lighter and stronger front frame that’s easier to manoeuvre.
The Argon 2 weights an extremely lightweight 8 kg (6 kg with its quick-release wheels removed), making it easy to lift. Its open-frame design ensures helps limit issues when transferring the wheelchair in-and-out of the car.
The Argon 2’s rigid frame maximises the energy efficiency by reducing any unwanted flex in the frame. This means more energy is transferred to propulsion and not lost in frame movement. The Argon 2 is strong, sturdy and ultra-lightweight and on of the most energy-efficient rigid wheelchairs available today.
The Argon 2 is compatible with the Attitude hand bike series from Sunrise Medical. Whether you want to exercise with the manual add-on, enjoy the benefits of intermittent exercise with the power assist, or cruise anywhere with the full power add-on, the Attitude hand bike range has all the options.
