AstraZeneca jabs given at Rome vaccination centre

(23 Mar 2021) Use of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine continued in Rome on Tuesday.
Italy, which was among the European countries to temporarily suspend the use of the jab earlier this month over safety concerns, is mainly administering the AstraZeneca shots to school, police and army personnel.
The European Medicines Agency concluded the shot did not increase the overall incidence of rare blood clots and advised countries to resume their rollouts.
Teachers who received the jab at Rome's Termini vaccination centre on Tuesday said they had few concerns.
Italy has received 2,474,000 doses of the AstraZeneca shot, compared to 6,610,500 of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.
As of Tuesday a total of 8,112,882 doses have been administered across the country.
