HOW CHILDHOOD TRAUMA CAN MAKE YOU SICK
Our childhoods can truly make us sick, mentally and physically. The Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (The ACE Study) is one of the most important studies to ever explore and establish the link between childhood trauma and lifetime health, risk and disease.
Childhood trauma, CPTSD, PTSD, anxiety, chronic illness, substance abuse and so many mental and physical health outcomes are connected to our experiences in our childhoods, and our adulthoods.
It's not "all in your head," -- trauma lives in your heart, your mind and your body.
Perhaps that autoimmune or gastrointestinal illness is related to your childhood, or maybe you can't seem to stop abusing substances (not because you are "weak" but because it initially developed in your attempt to deal with your pain, and now you're addicted). Or perhaps you struggle with eating too much because there is another pain hidden deep inside that food protects you from dealing with...the list is endless.
Either way, so many of our unhealthy behaviors and health outcomes often began as unconscious attempts to resolve and deal with traumatic pain and traumatic stories....
💕💕I hope this video validates you, your struggles and your wounds, and your stories.💕💕

While many of you are very familiar with the ACE study, I just wanted to create a video for my channel, because I am so passionate about the relationships between our childhood stories, our childhood traumas, and our childhood caregivers --and what happens to us in our adult lives, and how we can understand ourselves, as well as heal our lives.
