Critically acclaimed Hollywood actor, producer, director and author Bill Duke discusses his career, and colorism, with host Rameca Vincent Leary, Ph.D. Colorism is when people are discriminated against by people within their own race, based on skin tone. Although it is most prevalent among blacks, colorism exists in all races. Mr. Duke has been personally affected by colorism, and has explored the subject in books and films. He played an integral role in Dr. Leary’s Ph.D. dissertation on colorism, and in the final segment of the program Mr. Duke joins in a discussion with members of Dr. Leary’s focus group.
