Dee Dee Sharp hosts a discussion of “Long Time Coming”, a documentary about the 1955 Little League state championship game between an all-black Pensacola team and an all-white Orlando team. In an era when racial segregation defined the south, two groups of twelve-year-old boys—the Pensacola Jaycees and the Orlando Kiwanis—stepped on to a baseball field in a non-violent act of cultural defiance that would change the course of history and challenge their own perceptions sixty years later. Studio guests include three former Pensacola Jaycees players—Rev. Freddie Augustine, Willie V. Robinson and Admiral “Spider” Leroy—as well as the film’s producer, Ted Haddock, and its director, Jon Strong.
