Tuesday marks the end of a presidential race like no other. Tens of millions of Americans have already cast their ballots. But tonight's results are far from certain. Washington Bureau Chief Jackson Proskow walks us through what to expect today and how the day may unfold, as the White House prepares for possible protests and potential violence.

While Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden watches the results from Wilmington, Delaware, U.S. President Donald Trump will be watching the results come in from inside the heavily fortified White House. Rarely in modern history has a president spent election eve at the White House.

A non-scalable fence has been erected outside the White House surrounding the entire block, and the Department of Justice is sending federal prison correction officials to D.C. to help potentially maintain order.
