Coronavirus: Prime Minister Trudeau, health officials provide COVID-19 update | LIVE
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to hold a press conference Tuesday to make an announcement with Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland. A media availability will follow.
They will be joined by Chief Public Health Officer of Canada Dr. Theresa Tam and Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade Mary Ng.
Canada added 2,681 new novel coronavirus infections on Monday, bringing the country’s total case count to 240,010.
The prime minister has said it will take “weeks and months” to get through the second wave of COVID-19 and emphasized the importance of following health guidelines like physical distancing in order to avoid the “blunt instrument” of a second lockdown.
