If you look at the size of the in wall air conditioner units in many hotel rooms, you will notice that they are all much larger. This portable unit is much smaller so naturally it's not going to cool as fast as something that large.

That said, it does cool well, especially the closer you are to it. It can also cool my entire condo by some amount, although not instantly. I use fans to blow the cool air from the room the air conditioner is in, to other areas of the condo. It's better than nothing, especially when it's over 80 degrees inside (I typically only turn it on when it's 80 or over inside).

This is also one of the more attractive portable AC units to my eye and I can easily wheel it in to a closet for storage when I'm not going to use it, like for the winter, etc. It's not super loud, although you probably can't listen to music or watch TV with it in the same room. I can work or read in the same room no problem though.

I also purchased a third party sliding door mount which works well as the include mounts are only for a window, so are not tall enough for a slider.
