Karur, Tamil Nadu: A 21-year-old TVK women's wing organiser from Karur district has gone viral

Karur, Tamil Nadu: A 21-year-old TVK women's wing organiser from Karur district has gone viral after climbing the 1,017 steps of the Ayyarmalai Rathinagireeswarar Temple on her knees to fulfil a vow following Vijay becoming Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Mohanasundari, a resident of Mettupatti village and women's wing organiser for TVK in Krishnarayapuram East Union, said she had prayed that she would complete a three-day fast and climb the temple steps on her knees if "Vijay sir becomes Chief Minister of the state."

Videos from the temple showed Mohanasundari carrying out the climb in the presence of family members, local TVK workers and supporters, many of whom were seen carrying framed photographs of Vijay. The act quickly went viral across social media platforms and drew strong reactions online.

The Ayyarmalai Rathinagireeswarar Temple in Karur is a historic hill temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its challenging 1,017-step climb, often associated with vows and acts of devotion.

The incident comes days after TVK's strong performance in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections that led to actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay becoming Chief Minister.
