Opening up to kindness | Irene Rompa | TEDxAmsterdam
All of us want to be kind, but how good are we receiving kindness? Irene Rompa recounts a touching series of episodes where she allowed others to be kind and found them more than ready to jump at the opportunity
Irene Rompa is most passionate about random kindness, start-ups and sustainability. She leads the Let it Grow Lab, in which start-ups that work with flowers and plants to green our city lives are accelerated in their growth during a five-month incubation programme. She co-founded Dopper in the United States is an alumnus of Singularity University’s Global Solutions Programme 2015.
Currently, Irene is a Board Member of the Major Alliance, alongside of Jan Peter Balkenende and Bernard Wientjes, which aims to contribute to a better society by bringing together funds, companies and government to jointly increase the impact of societal initiatives. She is also the founder of the Buy Nothing New-Month; one month in which people pledge to re-discover what they already have & what fun alternatives there are to buying brand new things.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
