I'm excited to share with you another video from my latest guitar course, Bluegrass Guitarpeggios! The video comes from the final section of the course.

In this video, I'll put everything learned in the course so far together for this second of two final fiddle tune solos.

Of all the fiddle tunes I've heard, I consider "Ashokan Farewell" (written by Jay Unger) to be among the top ten. Its beautifully sustained notes tug at the heartstrings of even the most calloused flat-picking fingers. It's a great tune as well because it allows you to take advantage of Waltz Time, which is typically a good meter for slow and soulful solos.

In addition, if you're used to playing most fiddle tunes in a G-shape, this song will challenge you to explore other areas of the fretboard within the key of D.
