Snow In The Twin Cities Creates Deadly Icy Roads - 12/13/2020

A surprise dusting to a tenth of an inch of snow across the Twin Cities area this afternoon and evening led to very slick conditions across the region and several car crashes. One of those closed down I-35W in Bloomington, MN near W 90th St with wrecks on both sides of the highway, and the other was a single-vehicle rollover that resulted in a fatality in Eagan, MN at 55 and Lone Oak Rd. This accident ended up also closing 55 between Lone Oak Rd and Dodd Rd.

Shot Description

Clips 1-5: Several clips that are close to wide of the 5 vehicle accident that closed I-35 going northbound.
Clips 6-9: Several clips both close and wide of police closing the inside and center lanes for another multiple vehicle crash going southbound on I-35 with a view of the northbound lanes being closed and traffic being diverted around the accident below and under the bridge.
Clip 10: Another side shot of the multi-vehicle crash from above that closed I-35 northbound with traffic starting to build up going southbound.
Clip 11: Minnesota State Police car driving through the intersection with lights and siren going to the accident on the southbound lanes of I-35.
Clip 12-14: A few more clips of the accident from above that closed I-35 northbound with traffic being backed up going southbound on I-35.
