2012 Vancouver Island Musicfest Tribute

I wanted to make a video using the photographs I took at the 2012 Vancouver Island Musicfest. I could not decide what music to have accompanying the video. In the end I thought of Oliver Schroer (1956-2008), the great Canadian fiddler, composer, and philospher. Oliver would have loved to be at this festival, and his beautiful "Field Of Stars" - the selection used in this video, from Oliver's "Camino" album - would have been right at home in Courtenay, in that deep green park land where the festival was held. It was a wonderful weekend. Thanks go to Doug Cox, the volunteers, and all the musicians who enriched the lives of the 10,000 people who attended. And thank you, Oliver; your music is alive.

Note: There were many wonderful musicians and performances that I was not able to photograph - one needs to rest and eat and follow one's bliss - and there were a few that I was simply inept enough to capture properly. There were plenty of photographers on hand, and I'm sure they saw and took pictures of the ones I missed.
