A Letter From Billy (A memorial Tribute to my Baby Boy)

Yesterday I had to put to sleep my best friend in the world.

Billy Lucas Alan was 14 1/2 and the sweetest boy in the world. Nobody can replace him. He was blind for the last six years of his life but inspired me every day as he found his way around the world.

I'm having a really hard time with playing 'God' and making his final decision for him. Neither of us knew that when we went to the vet yesterday, I would be leaving alone.

My house is empty and I'm emptier.

Since I haven't showered or left my home since getting back yesterday morning, I do what I always do: Sit at the piano and use it as therapy. I need to believe that Billy would truly mean these words to me. It's the only thing that may get me out of bed.
