Varna is the largest city on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria
Varna is located in the north-east of the country near the border with Romania on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. To the west of the city stretches a long lake, into which the Provadiyska River flows. The city is the third most populous in Bulgaria, a major cultural and financial center, as well as an important transport hub of the country.
