Those who identify as trans and non-binary have become more and more visible in recent years. They’ve long been calling for more tolerance and acceptance by the wider culture. The Vatican issued a directive this month stating that gender fluidity is “nothing more than a confused concept of freedom.” The Weekly speaks to an influential non-binary activist and author about the politics of gender identification.
