Grant shares his experience of being supported by the Royal British Legion. #shorts

Grant joined the Army aged 24, but his career was cut short after an accident in Afghanistan led to him developing Osteoarthritis of the the spine.

After leaving the Armed Forces we helped Grant claim the correct level of compensation for his injuries. And since then we've continued to support him as he adjusts to civilian life.

When Grant moved into his current home, we provided him with furnishings including carpets and white goods. And recently we helped him refurbish his wet room, which had fallen into disrepair.

Since leaving the Army, Grant has also discovered his passion for hand-cycling and participated in the London Marathon. To help him further RBL organised for his bike to be adapted so he could change gears more easily with just a press of a button.

"Because you’re using both hands to cycle, you don’t have another hand free to easily change gears," said Grant.

"The way the RBL adapted the bike for me is spectacular, it’s made a real difference."
