Rusty Antique Ox-Tongue Iron Restoration [Three Types Of Bluing]

This old rusty ox-tongue iron was the first restoration object I bought for this channel. But I lacked the necessary lathe to completely restore the antique iron myself. Now I have the necessary equipment and after many months I was able to pull off this project. The special thing about this restoration video is that I will show you three different variations to bluing.

▬ What did I do ?! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

This iron is assembled with only three screws and exactly these three screws were unsolvable. Neither rust solvent, heating or icing helped to turn the screws out. Unfortunately, I had to saw off the screw heads. After that I deburred the flap and the holder for the wooden handle with the file and blasted it in the sandblasting cabin. I also roughly removed the rust from the metal core (the "ox tongue") and blasted it. These parts were treated with cold bluing to stop them from rusting. The screws have been replaced with new ones and "cooked" in spirit vinegar. To remove the iron core from the fire I built a jig, this is made of 8mm round steel that has been hot blued. The handle, for this device, and the wooden handle, for the antique iron, I made on a lathe. I sanded the body with sandpaper and polished it. After I have replaced the insulation I finally reassembled all parts.
