The Battle of 300 Champions: The Largest Duel in History. - Ancient Greek Duel.

The battle of 300 champions was the largest duel ever. The duel occurred between 300 champions each of Sparta and Argos. The intent was to settle their dispute over the city of Thyrea without an all-out battle that would cost thousands of lives. While the result is contested, in the end, the Spartans won the dispute through conventional force of arms.
