The Pig War - The Dumbest Conflict in History - Pig War Documentary. [1859]

The pig war, easily the most ridiculous conflict in the history of mankind. While the conflict definitely had deeper-lying roots, the catalyst for the war was the killing of potatoe raiding pig. From there, things quickly become even more ridiculous, with both sides calling in their armies and navies.

This episode in military history was far from the only ridiculous justification for war, but it is definitely one of the weirder ways to start a conflict.
