রেকর্ড ছুঁয়েছে কার্ড লেনদেন, বিদেশে বাংলাদেশিদের খরচ আড়াই গুণ | Card transactions | Family Card
বাংলাদেশের নগদ টাকার পরিবর্তে কার্ড ভিত্তিক লেনদেন দ্রুত জনপ্রিয় হয়ে উঠছে। গত পাঁচ বছরে ডেবিট, ক্রেডিট ও প্রিপেড কার্ডের সংখ্যা বেড়েছে 96 শতাংশ। আরকার্ডের মাধ্যমে মোট লেনদেনের পরিমাণ বেড়েছে 157 শতাংশ। একই সঙ্গে বিদেশে বাংলাদেশীদের কার্ড ব্যবহারও ধারাবাহিকভাবে বাড়ছে। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের সর্বশেষ প্রতিবেদনে উঠে এসেছে এসব তথ্য।
বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক বলছে 2021 সালের জুনে দেশে মোট কার্ডের সংখ্যা ছিল প্রায় 2 কোটি 60 লাখ। 2026 সালের মে মাসে তা বেড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে 5 কোটি 11 লাখের বেশি। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে তিন কোটি 97 লাখ ডেবিট কার্ড, 27 লাখ ক্রেডিট কার্ড এবং 86 লাখের বেশি প্রি-পেইড কার্ড। সবচেয়ে বেশি প্রবৃত্তি হয়েছে প্রিপেইড কার্ডে। যার সংখ্যা সাড়ে তিন বছরে বেড়েছে 154 শতাংশ।
