Therefore, whenever it comes to imposing a special cess (tax on tax) in the budget, it is viewed as something that will definitely burn a hole in the pockets of a common man. Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman, has announced in her speech that a 100% Agri Infra Development Cess i.e. tax on tax will be imposed on alcoholic beverages as well as edible oils and petrol&diesel.
