Photos of Delhi Police personnel armed with shields and ‘steel lathis’ which they said were to defend themselves against sword-wielding attackers were on Monday shared widely on social media. A day later, the Delhi Police has said no formal approval was given for the ‘new Armour’ while adding that the policemen took the initiative to arm themselves with arm guards and metal lathis on their own. Two days after the Delhi Police arrested journalist Mandeep Punia from a farmers' protest site at Singhu border, a local court in Delhi granted him bail on Tuesday. The court said the complainant, victims, and witnesses, in this case, were all police personnel, and hence there is "no possibility that the accused/applicant can able to influence any of the police officials". The bail was granted by the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Satvir Singh Lamba. A video is going viral on the internet which shows a man getting instant karma for shooting a bird down.
