Watercolor Doodles

Earlier this spring a high school art teacher contacted me and asked me if I had any fun project ideas for her students to work on during the last month of school--that time of year is always a challenge! Along with my previous Line Design video, this project immediately came to mind. While it doesn't involve a lot of painting, there is a watercolor component. And my students loved doing it. It's a great way to come up with cartoon characters or just to pass the time while bored. :)

Colors used: cobalt blue, alizarine crimson, and dioxazine mauve, along with leftover colors that were just dry on my palette, all by Old Holland.

Paper: 9"x12" student grade watercolor paper by Strathmore.

Brush: #5 round by Trekkel.
Pen: Pilot G-2 07 black gel pen.
Palette: Eldajon from Jerry's Artarama

Nail polish: none! I'm giving my nails a vacation. Sorry about the hair tie bracelet. :)
