Chimpanzees exposure to mirrors: Initial exposure to mirrors is usually met with aggressive behaviors as if the chimp is meeting another chimp, a stranger who is not a member of his family, an intruder in his own forest whom he has never met, certainly coming to stole the females of his group ... this later evolves into positive social behaviors (play) and/or mirror-directed behaviors (touching the mirror slowly to test the contingent relationship between what they do and what they see in the mirror) and self-directed behavior (exploring parts of their bodies that they cannot see without the help of a mirror). L'exposition de chimpanzés à des miroirs : La première rencontre de chimpanzés avec des miroirs génère généralement des comportements agressifs comme si les chimpanzés rencontraient un chimpanzé étranger, un intrus dans son domaine venu voler des femelles de sa famille ...avec le temps ces comportements évoluent vers des comportements sociaux positifs (des jeux) et / ou des comportements de envers le miroir lui-même (toucher le miroir lentement à tester la relation éventuelle entre ce qu'ils font et ce qu'ils voient dans le miroir) et des comportements auto-dirigés (exploration parties de leur corps qu'ils ne peuvent pas voir sans l'aide d'un miroir).
