Metal detecting a New Hampshire cellar hole and finding relics from the civil war era.
We found an old homesite way out in the woods with old stone walls and a big cellar hole that is almost grown over with trees and brush. We started swinging and picking away at the ground all around the area and started finding buttons with the metal detectors. First find by Digger Charlie was on the surface and looks to be a civil war hard times token. It has a big eagle on it and The United States of America. Other really cool relics found like a general service eagle button, a grange medallion, old spoons, suspenders and such. Although the site goes back to the 1700s most of what we found this day was 1800s relics.
