Finding a little hot spot metal detecting a colonial farm New England

Metal detecting a colonial New England farm for relics from the 1700s & 1800s on the first warm day of 2020. We took the jeep way out in the woods down the old dirt road lined with rock walls fro a real fun muddy drive. Getting to the old abandoned farm we turned on our metal detectors and started swinging and looking for signals to dig. We dug up some usual old relics found in the ground at these old farms like oxen shoes, iron gate hinges & even tools. It was at the point where Digger Dame found and dug up a really old thimble in one of the old side fields that we started to concentrate on the one area. We started finding many buttons from the 1700s made of pewter & tombac , we new this was a little hot spot. After spending more time looking at the layout with the small fields and stone walls we think there may have been another dwelling, starter home or some kind of structure in this spot. We plan to head back there really soon and see what else we can find.
