How To Master The Bad Word Cocktail with Four Simple Steps

Today on Booze On The Rocks we make the Bad Word cocktail. Bartenders love to play around with cocktails looking for that new flavour, sparkly thing to present to patrons and Dan Chadwick is no exception. The Bad Word starts with the Last Word as a template. That being an equal measures cocktail, meaning equal amounts of spirit, acid, herbal, and something different. So Dan came up with a Gimlet-meets-Negroni style drink. Sweet yet slightly bitter with hints of lime. But because not everyone can get Gran Classico, I have substituted Aperol; with its slight bitterness and orange notes, it is the perfect way to introduce a herbal cocktail to a novice cocktail drinker.. BAD WORD

1 oz/30 ml Lime Juice
1 oz/30 ml Dry Gin
1 oz/30 ml Green Chartreuse
1 oz/30 ml Aperol

Method

1. Add all of the ingredients to a shaker tin.
2. Shake with ice for 10-15 seconds.
3. Fine strain into a coupe.
4. Garnish with a lime wheel.
