What should your oxygen levels be when exercising #oxygen #pulseoximeter

Using a pulse oximeter is a valuable way to make sure your body is getting the oxygen it needs, especially when you're exercising. Here’s what to watch for:

Your oxygen saturation (SpO₂) should ideally stay at 92% or above. If it drops below 88%, especially for longer periods, it can put added stress on your body and may lead to complications.

During exercise, if you notice your SpO₂ falling below 88%, it’s a signal to slow down or take a break. Building in more rest periods during your workout gives your body time to recover, allowing your oxygen levels to stabilize, so you can continue safely and effectively.

Don’t forget to check your heart rate too. Even if your oxygen level looks okay, a high heart rate may mean your heart is working overtime to make up for low oxygen.

Keeping an eye on both numbers helps you stay safe, informed, and in control of your lung health.
