Alternator wiring "Idiot Light" Diesel Tractor

I rewired this GM SI style alternator because it wasn't charging and I suspected bad wiring. It was tricky to figure out but I read some and talk to some people and got it figured out. This is not a 1 wire alternator, its a 3 wire alternator.

The big post on the back get connected to the + battery terminal.

#2 post - Voltage Sensing - on the top of the alternator gets connected to the + battery.

#1 post - Excited Wire - can either be wired directly to the "Run" position on the ignition switch (for diesel applications only) or wired in series with an "idiot light" which needs to have at least 1.2 amps of current draw (based on 12.8 volts of voltage).

For gas engines a diode needs to be installed in the #1 circuit to avoid over running.

The tractor is an International Harvester 2050 Series A.

I hope I have made this clear for everyone, sorry for the confusion, I misspeak quite a bit on camera.

Thanks for watching!
