द लैंसेट रीजनल हेल्थ साउथईस्ट एशिया में छपी रिसर्च से पता चलता है कि पिछले कुछ वर्षों में कैंसर का इलाज शुरू करने में कम समय लगने लगा है।

इसमें उन लोगों की संख्या उल्लेखनीय रूप से अधिक है जिनका इलाज आयुष्मान भारत योजना के तहत चल रहा है।

कम आमदनी वाले लोगों की तुलना में उच्च आय वाले लोग समय पर इलाज शुरू करवा देते हैं।

A recent study published in The Lancet highlights the positive impact of India's Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) on cancer care.

👉🏻The research indicates a 36% increase in early detection and treatment of cancer over six years, attributing this improvement to the scheme. Notably, timely treatment defined as initiation within 30 days of diagnosis improved significantly for beneficiaries, with a 90% increase in access compared to a 30% improvement for non-enrollees.

👉🏻AB-PMJAY, launched in 2018, aims to provide health coverage to economically vulnerable populations in India. The scheme offers a cover of ₹5 lakh per family per year for medical treatment in empaneled hospitals, both public and private.

👉🏻It emphasizes cashless payment and paperless recordkeeping, with no restrictions on family size, age, or gender. All pre-existing medical conditions are covered, and the scheme includes 3 days of pre-hospitalization and 15 days of post-hospitalization care.

👉🏻Additionally, it is portable across India, allowing beneficiaries to avail medical treatment at any PM-JAY empaneled hospital nationwide.
