BMW Swirl Flap Removal 318d, 320d, 325d, 330d, 520d, 525d, 530d, M47 & M57 Engines from 1998 - 2006

Hi everybody!

Welcome back to the shed, in this video I am going to be carrying out a swirl flap delete on my friends E60 2006 520d. These swirl flaps are a notorious issue with these engines and has been widely documented.

If left unchecked, they are severely prone to failure and will cause extensive valve damage should the component parts fall into the inlet tract and meet the moving valves. Ultimately causing expensive damage that would likely cost more to rectify than these cars are now worth.

The blanking plates themselves are readily available from various eBay sellers and come in different sizes dependent upon your model, I would expect the vendors to be able to assist in the correct fitment prior to sale using your registration number for guidance.
