Grays's Paradox- Boundary Layer Effect (Explained)

Dolphins are very cute but they're also very fast, they're actually the fastest mammal on water. This simple fact caused a lot of confusion between scientists because dolphins don't have enough muscle mass to generate the thrust they do. At least according to the zoologist, that first tried to calculate the thrust generated by a dolphin, James Gray. His results gave birth to a longstanding contradiction, Thre Gray's Paradox

In this video, I tell you the story of how this paradox came to be and try to explain why dolphins are so fast. I go into some fluid mechanics and aerodynamics talking about stuff like drag, viscosity and the boundary layer effect.

The boundary layer effect plays a big role in aerodynamics and is an important piece of the puzzle on out dolphins swim so fast, so stick around and enjoy the video.

(Message for Subs) - Guys sorry for the delay on the video but as I was researching, I got more and more interested, also the animations were more complicated than usual. This delay made me realize that I need a more direct line to communicate with you, so follow me on one of my social media websites where I post warnings, teaser, exclusive photos an footage and more.
