Investigating Sulfate Free vs Sulfate Shampoos to Remove Silicones

Can a sulphate-free shampoo remove silicones and product build-up? Or do silicones only buildup on curly hair when we don't use sulfate / clarifying shampoos? What's good everybody, and welcome back to Melthbusters. I’m your host and Mane Girl, Mell, and this video is part of playlists on my channel where I put theories, beliefs and/or the MYTHS of the beauty world to the test. Today's test has to do with SILICONES & SULFATES, both ingredients that are frowned upon by the curly hair method and proclaimed the devil for curly hair. -- as silicones are said to cause buildup, suffocate the hair from moisture. It is also widely believed that the only way the can be washed away is by using HARSH CLEANSERS LIKE SULFATES to clean your hair, which is said to dry your hair out, even more, yada yada yada.

But is this the case? Are silicones that difficult to wash away that we have to use harsh sulfates? Does it mean that a sulfate-free cleanser cannot wash away silicones? And if you are using a sulfate-free cleanser and products with silicones will you experience buildup?

Today, I am testing out this theory in front of you. Is it a misconception, or is it true? Stay tuned.
