Virology 2015 Lecture #3: Genomes and Genetics
There are billions and billions of viruses on Earth, but only seven different types of viral genome. In this lecture we describe each genome type and trace the pathway to mRNA. We conclude with a discussion of the use of infectious DNA clones to conduct genetic analyses of viruses.
