“Faith Journeys with God in the Land”-Part 15

The Dead Sea is the lowest place on earth. Today this unique body of water that consists of about 33% salt and minerals is divided into a larger northern section about 35 miles in length (with water depths about 900 feet) and a shallower southern section. Unlike in the days of the Bible, no water from the Jordan River that flows south from the Sea of Galilee makes it into the Dead Sea. Furthermore, there is also no exit of water from the Dead Sea. Coupled with a high rate of evaporation, the water level is shrinking about tow or three feet each year.

In our spiritual journey of faith, we need both an “inflow” and an “outflow” in order for us to live abundantly as followers of Christ. Our lives need the constant inflow of Christ into our lives. We experience this through reading and absorbing His Word and through prayer. However, our lives also need to exhibit an “outflow” of God’s grace and goodness through us. This is how God can use us to reach others for Him.

So strive to allow the “Living Water” (e.g. Christ) to flow constantly into your life so that what flow naturally out from you (God’s grace and love) will be seen by others.
