Another iPhone 6 Vlog? || Black Fabric Dye & My Synthetic Wig (Experimenting Again)

In this installment of "I'm not a Guru" I try and fail at dying my synthetic wig using Rit liquid fabric dye.

I actually shot an ootd (soon come) with this wig the next day and was going to edit/post that video. I decided to post this first because I think it is important to show the error aspect of "trial an error". Especially, if it can prevent someone from making the same mistakes. I'm truly a work in progress and constantly learning. I'm trying to switch up the editing format of these types of videos as well! Would this be classified as a vlog? I noticed the wig (featured in this video) and decided to try it on. I usually can never fit wigs! There is something about the circumference of my large noggin, combined with my thick hair that usually makes it almost impossible to fit even hats, helmets. Anything suited for normal sized heads generally look crazy. I tried it on anyway and it fit! The price was right, but I love BLACK hair. The streaks in this wig were ok.... until I got it home. I kept thinking to myself that I'd prefer it in black. I had black temporary spray, but I wondered if there was a more permanent way to color synthetic hair. I, of course, "YouTubed" it. I saw girls using fabric dye which I did have already. They mostly used it on blonde hair. I figured I could do the same thing to my wig. I grabbed my phone to film what I thought would be a quick video showing my results.... nope. It took days start to finish. It was messy. I suggest the kitchen sink for sure! The dye also soaked through the gloves I had :/ Shoutout to Noodles & Company for the chopsticks! They were great make shift tongs. I ultimately tried the temporary black hair spray in a similar way i did in my previous video( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-h7O2qxi3bQ ). Although it did dye the hair black. It ended up stiff and hard. Good for Braids, but this was not good for a style that is to be worn down in my opinion. I tried washing out the spray dye using Dawn Dish Soap with Olay because thats what I had. I thought the wig was ruined because it was sooooo tangled and knotty. I put it on a hook. upside down in the bathroom and basically thought the wig was done. To my surprise once dry the knots were easy to detangle. It gave the hair some volume. I was more fluffy but in a good way. I still had the blonde streaks but turning it to the side gave me a different vibe. Ultimately I had totally unexpected results. I usually make my wigs and toss when done but had no clue you could wash synthetic wigs. I YouTubed that too and stumbled upon tons of methods.

Ultimately I believe this may have worked on very light blonde hair and but with other colors. Getting it to be as black as I would have liked may not be possible for this type of hair.
