Here I present an album of photographs of the city of Еlisavetgrad, now situated in the Ukraine and called Kropyvnytskyi.
When these photographs were taken, the city was part of the Russian Empire.....
Developed around a military settlement, that dates to 1754 when St. Elizabeth's fortress was built by the command of the Empress Elizabeth.the city rose to prominence in the 19th century when it became an important trade centre.....
