Why does Islam and Zoroastrianism seem so similar? If Islam is influenced by Zoroastrianism, does this mean Islam is not the truth? Dr. Safiyyah Ally points out that some Islamic stories, acts of worship, practices and rituals are similar to Zoroastrianism. Dr. Shabir Ally explains that when God revealed the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) it wasn't the first time that God was sending guidance to human beings. Much of what is similar in Islam to other religions is because God revealed similar messages to many people throughout time in various places speaking diverse languages. So it is very possible that God revealed something to Zoroaster that survived in the Zoroastrian religion.
