Raspberry Pi Headunit Replacement Update Part 2 - BT Calls & Streaming, SWC, Wireless AA, Kodi

After 6 months I finally got around to filming an update video for my raspberry pi-based headunit replacement. I wanted the video to be a step-by-step instructional video that covers installation of the open auto pro software, as well as custom scripts for backup camera, automated safe shutdown, steering wheel controls, wireless AA, and kodi. In order to cram in all of that content I had to split the video into 2 parts.
This is part 2 and covers external bluetooth hands-free calling & streaming media setup, steering wheel controls, wireless AA, and kodi.

If you use the hifi digi+ (which will offer the highest SQ), then you must use a usb mic instead of a stereo input mic. You won't need the USB sound card anymore. To make phone calls, you need an external bt adapter. Even though the pi has bt built in, it does not support hands-free profile (HFP), so you cannot use it to make phone calls. Here's the one I am successfully using for both streaming music (A2DP) and phone calls (HFP) -
