Q). I'd like to learn more about the sliding technique. I hear it used in different ways. Sliding across several scales and sliding quickly around notes are both of interest to me. Also, sliding small chords is something I would like to know more about too. Examples of slides like these would be of a great help to me for connecting scales & licks and for rhythm guitar. Thank you!
Erik – Aland, Finland
A). Slide technique is one of the more important tools of any guitar player. But, sliding is however one of those techniques that normally doesn't get applied much past the simple idea of just slipping into a note from another note. For that reason, sliding deserves to be examined more closely to find out other ways that we can use them. In this lesson we'll take a look at how slides can be used for; position shifting, playing note-group slide ideas, small chord slides and also for organizing two-string pattern licks.
