I studied myself into being a non-Christian - Jamal Broadnax

Today I spoke with Jamal Broadnax, a former fundamentalist Christian in the Pentecostal denomination who became a pastor for 20 years before investigating the truth claims and origins of Christianity and fully deconverting.

We discussed many topics, including:

• Hearing "prophets" in the church on a regular basis.
• Seeing people slain in the spirit and "purged."
• Getting "saved" in a youth revival service and then living in a way that was "sold out to Jesus."
• Being given Apostolic Succession by his denomination during his time as a pastor.
• Being strongly affected by Bishop Carlton Pearson preaching the "gospel of inclusion" and the message of universal salvation.
• Realizing that the Yahweh character is a psychopathic narcissist and is definitely not a "good father."
• How the mindset of Christian supremacy and their persecution complex often leads Christians to try to dominate cultural discussions instead of having cordial dialogue.
• The importance of professional counseling as well as getting to truly know and love yourself as part of the healing process after deconversion.
• Experiencing much more peace after deconversion than we ever had as Christians.
