BHF Live & Ticking December 2022 – 2022 BHF Science Review of the Year

Our online series of Live & Ticking events keep you updated with the latest BHF science taking place across the UK.

In this edition, we run through some of the BHF's research highlights from 2022, as well as sharing our hopes for the upcoming year.

Event speakers:

Fearghal McKinney - Head of BHF Northern Ireland hosts and highlights some of the BHF’s work over the past twelve months and poses viewer questions to our panel of experts.

Professor James Leiper – BHF Associate Medical Director for Research from University of Glasgow’s Institute of Cardiovascular and Medical Sciences reviews our research successes of 2022 and looks ahead to the new year.

Professor John Simpson and Dr Natasha Stephenson – The research team at Evelina London Children’s Hospital and King’s College London talk about how they have developed a new virtual reality technology that could help plan complicated heart surgeries.

Dr Dimitrios Doudesis – BHF-funded researcher from University of Edinburgh discusses an artificial intelligence algorithm he developed with his team which could help doctors to diagnose heart attacks in women more accurately and quicker than ever before.
