Cessna 182 | Wichita, KS to Monroe, LA; Lots of IMC, ATC helps us Split Moderate/Heavy Red Cells?
Flying the Cessna 182 from Wichita, Kansas to visit Janis' dad in Monroe, LA. We typically fly into Ruston, but wanted to support a upcoming locally owned FBO at Monroe's airport; Hangar 7.
Note: they are in process of finishing up their new facility which will "actually" be in Hangar 7, in the interim they are operating out of Hangar 12. But at least it made for a humorous taxi instructions!
Spoiler alert, by the time we got near the weather, Red Cells were dissipating and we had a wide gap between them as well.
We were planning on what to do approximately 100nm prior if weather stayed the same or worsened. We had an airport picked out at Janis’ brothers in Camden, AR and wait it out if weather was a no-go.
