Alfredo Smaldini (born December 16, 1919 in Basel , October 31, 2010 in Brugg ) was a Swiss clown and comedian .

Smaldini's parents died early and he had to survive as a contract child . During his time as a waiter in a Basel dance hall, his inclination to become an entertainer developed. As a member of a band, he was touring the world as Alfredo with his own variety program from 1966 . This included appearances at the Olympia in Paris and in entertainment shows such as Amlauf Band and Benissimo , as well as engagements at Circus Knie and Circus Conelli . He became known for his pronounced facial expressions, with which he parodied Popeye , among others , and for his number Granada

She has performed with some of the most recognized artists of our time in Pantomime, Musicals, Television and most notably with the “Kirov Opera Company” She also took the prime leading lady position in the UK Theatre tour of “Mad about the Musicals”

Most recently she released her first studio Album “The Other Side of Me” in relationship with Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The album was tailor made for the charity and is a very popular and touching album to share with her audiences across the world.

Sonia, is definitely a rare stone, her ability to take the stage and demand and audience to watch is a gift, she shines there and it is evident she belongs there…
